In this video lecture we will contradict the proof of Ramanujan summation of natural numbers 1+2+3+4…..=-1/12 and prove it to be equal to -1/8.
done in our previous video titled Strange Ramanujan Summation.

Ramanujan wrote a letter to Cambridge mathematician G.H Hardy and in the 11 page letter there were a number of interesting results and proofs and after reading the letter Hardy was surprised about the letter that changed
the face of mathematics forever. The strange thing about this sum is that how can the sum of positive natural numbers forming a diverging series can give a negative fraction. The implication of this series is in bosonic
string theory and Casimir effect.
